Ted McKinney: NASDA Builds Relationships Worldwide for Agriculture
09/05/2025

Ted McKinney, CEO of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) has been in Africa visiting the country of Senegal. Quoted in a recent posting by C.J. Miller for Hoosier Ag Today, “Senegal is one of the five countries that we in the U.S. have identified as pivotal… They are highly influential in the western Africa area, and so they are hosting the Africa Food Systems Forum, which is we think is the premiere ag policy-oriented meeting for the entirety of Africa.”
Speaking at the Africa Food Systems Forum McKinney said that there are short-term and long-term opportunities for U.S. Agriculture in that region. The short-term opportunities are in the feed grains, with the long-term opportunities being the fact that most of the world’s population growth from the current 8 billion to the projected 10 billion people will be in Africa and India.
